I write stories that ignite a reader’s curiosity.

For several decades, I’ve been a writer, public relations consultant and strategic marketing communications consultant and have adapted my skills to meet the changing demands of technology.

During my varied career, I’ve developed the know-how to combine old school journalism techniques — the art of the interview, the power of research — with new ways to foster connection with today’s information-saturated audience.

Every day I have experiences that make me wonder, ”What’s up with that?”. My inquisitive nature wants to learn the why, how and what of things and share what I’ve uncovered. A willingness to dig deep for details enables me to identify intriguing stories and craft them to inform, inspire and entertain.

My writing focuses on exploring healthy aging, how seniors stay active, elder wisdom, purpose-driven lifestyles and travel opportunities. Change agents and thought leaders fascinate me, and it is my passion to spotlight their spirit of innovation.

What I Do

Content Creator

Effective content marketing requires a writer who can build a compelling narrative across a variety of media channels, formats, and styles. My broad background in business and non-profit work helps me deliver strategic communications that encourage the reader to take positive action.

Independent Journalist

Good journalism is about authentic stories, well told. As a seasoned freelance writer, I discover captivating stories everywhere that motivate me to gather more information about the subject and share. I mine all the angles, ask lots of questions, probe for answers, and report what I’ve learned in an understandable way that adds value to the reader. Editors like me because I deliver great copy on deadline.

What People Say

Susan is a top notch marketer with a keen sense for the core idea that can differentiate a company from its competitors. As an experienced journalist, she brings that ability to write a headline to every product or service she markets — what’s going to generate buzz? build momentum? cut through the clutter? Susan knows how to get to essence and then build a campaign that tells the story.
